Will biotechnology companies usually pay for you to get your masters and doctorate?
Q. I am interested in biomedical research and biotechnology, but I know that many jobs in this area require doctorates. Can you get a job with a company after college and then go for your higher degrees with their financial support? If not, how do most people pay for all of these things?

A. "Transformation" in this context is generally cloning and expressing specific target genes/proteins in bacteria. This is generally the easiest way to make (and usually purify) large amounts of a particular protein you might be interested in. Unfortunately, since bacteria do not carry out many post-translational modifications needed by eukariotic cells (like glycosylation of specific proteins), other types of transformation (yeast, other cells, baculovirus in insect cells, etc.) need to be considered in those cases.

The earlier answerer do not know the uni that actually offers the course. There are only 39 universities in Australia and they are tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from.
